Welcome to all new Stuart Appleby web surfers out there.
My web site www.stuartappleby.com has been sometime in the making, now it's "off the ground" I look forward to bringing fresh and developing content to my site in the weeks/days/years ahead.
I plan on updating my blob weekly as much as possible, so I hope you can understand if I miss a week or two.
I hope to bring to you my personal thoughts on the events past/present/future and tour news that floats around the course and even the locker room.
This particular week is the Wachovia Championship at Quail Hollow here in Charlotte, NC.
The Wachovia Championship has in a very short period of time become one of the premium events on the tour. It's one very testing course, preferably in dry conditions (my opinion) it will test all the shots in a players bag. There's constant challenges in keeping the ball on the fairways and then under the hole on quick and challenging greens. We do get spoilt a lot out here, but the hospitality in Charlotte is amazing. Speaking of being spoilt this particular week we get to drive in a very comprehensive range of Mercedes Benz vehicle's, so we've got the ladies running for the keys before we head out for practice. The weather in the initial portion of this week is going to above average in temp, so nice to help get things get firm. Unfortunately by Wednesday we might get a storm or two that might soften things up for a few days. The weekend looks like we'll get some mild weather, so some scoring opportunities could be on the cards?I've not seen the condition of the course yet this year, but I can bet it's 100% ready for some of the best players to walk it.

Hey Stuey:
Your blog is great, very informative about the course conditions for the Wachovia Championship in Charlotte this week.
StuartAppleby.com is also very cool, I really enjoyed the slideshow of pictures. Tell Joey he is seriously handsome, something I'm sure he wasn't aware of!
Nice job on both sites!
Good luck this week Stuey.

What Happened? I noticed a DQ beside your name at the Wachovia Championship.
Stuart:
I share an ancient technique for bringing the mind into the present. (the "Now"). Why is this important?
The mind loves to go to the past and the future and those thoughts negatively effect performance. Butch Harmon once said, "In golf, the mind is a terrible thing."
Butch wasn't talking about how your mind is essential for getting the yardage from your caddie,
choosing the club, creating the perfect grip and getting into the setup. I believe Butch was referring to the
thoughts in between the shots. I have written a book called Peace and Par. Although the book is being edited, Billy Bondaruk the head professional of CattaVerde Country Club, near Sacramento, California has read Peace and Par and recognizes the power of the technique I call "The Now Sound". The Now Sound is very natural and can be part of your existing set-up routine. The entire schtick takes about an hour. Thanks in advance for contacting me to organize a time and place to meet.
Sincerely,
Michael Shingleton

Hi Stuart,
Great to see your site up and running.
It's Bernie the physio from St Andrews here.
Not too sure about the SPAM you get on your blog.
SH anti-stress management maybe?
Anyway, hope you are well and enjoying life with the family.
Have a great summer and hope to see you up this way soon.
Stuey:
Only you know how often your mind goes to the past and future during a round. What if you had a technique that could bring you to the Now (the zone) in a few breaths? My book "Peace and Par - Enjoying Golf in the Now" www.thenowsound.net (www.amazon.com) describes this ancient, natural technique and how it can be used as part of your setup routine or between shots. Or, contact me and you can hear my schtick in person or over the phone in less than an hour.
Thanks,
Michael
Hey,
Hows being drunk in a Hilliard, OH McDonalds bathroom treating you? Have fun insulting people? Dont forget the paper towels are free...Asshole.
Dissapointed Fan

Congratualtions on being halfway leader US open I was priveledged to watch you play with my two children. You have had a great career, keep putting yourself in a postion to win and tell tiger to bring his best next time.
I hope you are at your peak next time and inside top 5 from a performance perspective.
Top 15 next year? Bring it on.

Hi Stuart,
I was wondering if you had donated to the Victoria Fire Appeal. We have read in the news that Craig Parry had donated money, yet there was no mention of you which we thought was strange as your from rural Victoria.
Hi Stuart!
Maurine(Mo)here from North Carolina. Remember me? I was your number one fan back in the day:-)
I think fondly of those days in the 1990's when I had the time to follow you around at the Kemper or the GGO. Sigh...
All my best to you, your family and JOE!!

Stu, it's been 35 years since I was in the group behind you, with Doctor Graham and Ken Woodard and my Dad Dr. McDonald, on the Cohuna course for Pennant and remember your comment as we all waited to tee off ; You said " With the cows dropping out to calve a few more every day or so I might get to play some decent golf sometime in the next few months!!" 5 years later (roughly) you were making a very big name (for a bloke who could have played in the centre taking tap-outs from Doug and Gary Farrant at Nth Melb.) playing your favourite sport but you've never forgotten the Dairy herd, your family's love of the land and your grass roots. I applaud you for your realisation that the rhythms of nature guide all sportsmen and are what can "fire you up" or "slap you down" when its needed. I've seen you hit golf's brick walls and, with the determination of a Bull in springtime, snort, toss up the dirt, and get on with the job and improve, improve, improve until you reach your goal. Watching you when you were 17 or 18 gave me (20 years older than you) the inspiration to cut my handicap from 24 then to 2.5 today, aged 59. I wish I'd had the guts to try the Pro-Am circuit but my profession as a Psych always gets in the way so I reckon golf will always be No2. This weekend you should be able to carry your day 2 form to a win but, if you don't, you are still a massive inspiration and, the cows are almost all still out mate. All the best. Hec.
Stuart,
Congratulations on gracing the cover of the 2009 Golf Directory.ca
golf course guide for southwestern Ontario. Your form on the bunker shot looks spot on.
Does your cover presence suggest that you might enter the RBC Canadian Open at Glen Abbey this July? I know the tournament falls on the week after the Open but unlike last year there is a week between the Canadian Open and the Bridgestone event.
To my knowledge you have never competed at Glen Abbey. You weren't far from there when you played in a charity event at the Toronto Board of Trade course in June 2004 where I witnessed you going 1,2 on your way to a front nine of 31.
Best of luck as you strive to turn your game around this season. I have witnessed you playing some phenomenal golf at Oakmont, Royal Montreal and Firestone so I know it is just a matter of time for you to regain your form.
